Join Mastercard's award-winning Artificial Intelligence and Decision Product Enablement (AI & DPE) program as a Lead Software Engineer on the Clearing Decisioning team. In this role, you'll work on a high-performance, real-time Artificial Intelligence (AI) and decisioning platform that leverages advanced AI solutions and processes hundreds of thousands of transactions every second -- ensuring payment security at a global scale.
You will:
• Lead the design and delivery of high quality, reliable software, guide key technical decisions and contribute to overall platform design.
• Promote strong engineering practices such as clean code, reviews, automation, and CI/CD.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with product and cross functional partners to deliver solutions.

Required Skills
• Demonstrates strong ownership and the ability to learn and adapt quickly. Proven ability to lead through influence by aligning others, driving decisions, and unblocking delivery.
• Solid understanding of service and platform level system design (e.g. distributed systems, event driven architectures), advanced design patterns (e.g. dependency injection, lazy loading) and experience with open frameworks (e.g. Spring Boot).
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with hands on development experience designing, building and maintaining production grade systems.
o Expertise in Java, Spring, gRPC and backend service development for high performance, scalable applications
o Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins), Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
o Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS) and including cloud native architectures and migration strategies.
o Experience with relational databases (Oracle) and NoSQL databases (e.g. Cassandra)
o Experience with Business Rule Management System such as IBM ODM, Queuing technologies such as MQ and Kafka
o Proven ability to lead design discussions, review code, and enforce engineering standards.
o Experience with modern development practices (Agile, CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews).
