Overview
The Modern Access team is looking for a Lead Technical Program Manager (Scrum Master) to act as a leader and drive its efficiency and use of Agile Scrum within the organization. While we are not an application development team, we still use Agile Scrum to support our efforts to deliver customer value. The ideal candidate is passionate about the customer experience journey, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset. You must be a team player with a positive attitude who is enthusiastic about bringing a vision of the future to life.
Role
• Play a key role in the success of the team by ensuring Scrum practices are effectively implemented, allowing the team to focus on delivering customer value and developing an agile mindset.
• Serve as an integral member of the leadership team, supporting peers and their direct reports in adopting and applying Agile Scrum methods.
• Foster a positive team environment by promoting a “fail fast, learn quickly” mindset that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
• Facilitate all Agile Scrum ceremonies and cadences, ensuring they are effective, and outcomes oriented.
• Measure and track team effectiveness by monitoring velocity and other key performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Support backlog management by helping the team create clear, concise, and prioritized backlog items.
• Partner with stakeholders across the organization to align Mastercard's project tracking and reporting standards with the team's Agile Scrum framework.
• Track and update key project initiatives for quarterly reviews, including preparing reports and presentation materials.
• Coach the team on Agile and Scrum principles to strengthen collaboration, transparency, and adaptability.
• Demonstrate servant leadership by modeling the values and responsibilities of the Scrum Master role.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless work handoffs and proper intake of new requests.
• Lead audit-related efforts within the team, acting as the liaison to stakeholders to ensure smooth audit execution and adequate documentation from development teams.
All about you:
• Act as a strong advocate and champion for Agile principles and practices across teams and the organization.
• Support multiple Scrum teams, including those that are globally distributed, ensuring alignment and effective collaboration.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies and promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
• Coach teams and leaders on Agile values, Scrum practices, and servant leadership principles.
• Identify and remove impediments to enable teams to focus on value delivery.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to maintain a clear, prioritized backlog.
• Leverage metrics (velocity, capacity, and sprint performance) to track and improve team effectiveness.
• Utilize Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence to manage and communicate progress.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification preferred but not required.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
