Overview:
You'll be joining the Mastercard Digital Partners team in France focusing on identifying and building strong partnerships throughout the non-traditional payments value chain to achieve continual growth in the French market. These partners represent some of the most entrepreneurial and innovative organizations Mastercard works with today.
You will report to the VP, Head of Digital Partners, taking responsibility for all Mastercard related topics with several key French Electronic Money Institutions or Payment Institutions, including owning the relevant customer P&L's and driving strategic planning and solution selling, with an emphasis on Core payments, Digital, Services and New Flows solutions through building and broadening our overall relationships at all levels of the customer.
We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven and experienced professional with banking and/or payments, management consulting, or technology sales experience that can bring a technical aptitude to strategic problem-solving to address customer challenges and opportunities and drive relationship growth and profitability. This position is ideal for someone with a strong business acumen who is a collaborative thought leader, has strong project management discipline, has experience deepening relationships, understands both the consumer and commercial cards space, its competitive landscape and operates proactively
Role & Responsibilities:
In this client-facing position, you will:
• Provide superior strategic account management driven by robust planning – building a deep understanding of customer needs, defining creative solutions to meet those needs, and working effectively across internal functions to bring together the resources required to deliver enhanced value to the customer.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities through account planning strategy that provide the best potential for future business growth, and appreciable return on financial investments. Qualify opportunities before collaborating with internal experts (Products & Services, Customer Delivery & Implementation..) to then progress the sales process.
• Support strategically significant organizational initiatives, including cross-selling of key Mastercard products, capabilities and solutions to deepen relationships.
• Work with customers to build an in-depth understanding of their business and a point of view on how Mastercard solutions can address the needs of their business, leveraging internal stakeholders to efficiently move prospect through highly matrixed buy cycles.
• Act as a trusted partner, support your clients with new business development opportunities (e.g prospective clients as Fintechs or Corporate) by reinforcing their sales effort, sharing market knowledge and thought leadership and ensuring effective project implementation
• Develop detailed business cases, including financial analysis/modeling. Negotiate, execute and manage the customer contract agreement process, ensuring global linkage of resources and information sharing
• Conduct quarterly business reviews, annual planning sessions and workshops (products, thought leadership..)
All About You:
• Self- starter with a strong commercial & technological acumen; demonstrated track record of planning, managing and closing complex, competitive sales efforts and delivering results in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency and accuracy
• Acute understanding of the payment value chain and tech companies/business startups; Strong knowledge of the French fintech ecosystem, including key players, market trends, and regulatory environment.
• Strong interpersonal and networking skills. Strong team spirit
• Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in both French and English. Proven ability to engage with C-suite executives and influence decision-making processes;
• Ability to navigate large organizations and influence without direct authority; Ability to build and maintain internal relationships with senior management and key stakeholders, gaining support for the strategic direction of the business;
• Collaborative and results-driven approach to problem-solving.
• Educational background: Business School/MBA/Engineer/Master degree required
• You will be based in Paris, France.
