Manager, BizOps Job Description Summary
The BizOps team is seeking a Manager – Business Operations with strong expertise in Mainframe technologies (COBOL, JCL) and proven people management skills. This role will lead operational excellence, ensure production readiness, and drive automation initiatives across critical platforms.

BizOps plays a key role in ensuring stability, compliance, and efficiency across enterprise platforms. We need leaders who can combine technical depth with strong leadership to deliver high-quality services and mentor teams.

Mission
The Manager – BizOps will act as the production readiness steward for Mainframe-based platforms. This includes partnering with development teams to design, implement, and support technology services while ensuring operational criteria like availability, performance, capacity, and compliance are met. The role also focuses on risk management, incident response, and continuous improvement through automation and process optimization.

Responsibilities
• Lead and manage a team of BizOps engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
• Oversee Mainframe operations, ensuring stability and compliance across COBOL and JCL-based applications.
• Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual interventions and improve operational efficiency.
• Engage in lifecycle activities—from design and deployment to monitoring and optimization.
• Partners with development and product teams to align operational needs with business priorities.
• Implement proactive monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning for Mainframe systems.
• Manage incident response, root cause analysis, and postmortem reviews.
• Mentor team members and promote knowledge sharing across global teams.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of experience in Mainframe technologies (COBOL, JCL) and batch processing.
• Strong understanding of Mainframe architecture, job scheduling, and performance optimization.
• Proven people management experience, including team leadership and stakeholder engagement.
• Familiarity with ITSM processes, compliance frameworks, and risk management.
• Experience in automation tools and scripting (REXX, Python, or similar) is a plus.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work across global teams and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
