Manager, Business Development Overview
Our North America organization continues to build a strategic and consultative workforce of world-class relationship managers, problem-solvers and technologists. We are pursuing highly motivated individuals who display strong achievement orientation, intellectual curiosity, openness, resilience, diligence, and the ability to effectively marshal resources. We align our team to compete and differentiate on the basis of customer intimacy, product and solution strength, and partnership orientation.

We are recruiting a talented individual for a full-time role in our Community FI Sales Team within our US Issuers organization, which focuses on developing new opportunities with issuers. This includes owning the relationship with external payment consultant companies, developing proposals and presenting the pitch, negotiating contracts and selling Mastercard value added services.

Role
In this high-profile, customer facing position, you will partner with financial institutions to identify business opportunities and challenges and deliver solutions.
• Coordinate outreach to thousands of issuers and their payment processors in community bank and credit unions segment, to achieve volume and revenue growth goals.
• Develop proposals and negotiate contracts with banks, credit unions or their payment consultants.
• Manage relationships with payment consultant companies, payment processor partners and respond to RFPs
• Work closely with a large diverse cross-functional team within Mastercard to achieve revenue targets and increase market share within your assigned customer segment.
• Identify customer needs and customer strategies for growth and identify and pursue opportunities to deliver solutions and drive profitability, revenue growth and value creation for both Mastercard and customers.
• Identify inputs and assumptions for business cases and financial models required to support customer relationship and associated agreements, ensuring US and global (where applicable) linkage of resources and information sharing. Ideal candidate will demonstrate ability to independently develop business cases.
• Coordinate thought leadership engagements with influencer parties and customers
• Manage process improvement initiatives within Processors and Community Issuers segment.

• Comfortable with financial modeling and ambitious to meet and exceed sales targets.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong working relationships at all levels including C-suite executives
• Able to coordinate multiple customer contract agreement processes.
• Understanding business and market dynamics, Mastercard's product and service specifications and applications, and your customers' strategies and needs in order to identify opportunities and design tailored solutions which meet the customer's needs.
• Able to converse and provide insightful viewpoints on Mastercard platforms, products and services, explain to customers how they can leverage Mastercard's offerings for their own business needs and communicate complex technological concepts with clarity and conviction.
• Keeping pace with cutting edge technology trends and events that impact Mastercard's platforms, products and services, visualize the “big picture” and understand the interdependencies between related inputs and their implications on current and future business goals/outcomes.
• Ideal candidate will have 5 years or more sales and account management experience or from working at payment networks, payment processors, community banks, credit unions or payment consultants.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more.

Pay Ranges

Remote - St. Louis: $121,000 - $194,000 USD
