Overview

Mastercard is seeking a Principal Product Manager – Technical to join the Service Operations Tools (SOT) Adoption team. This role will help drive the adoption of strategic initiatives that strengthen incident, problem, and change management through targeted enhancements to reporting, data insights, tools, processes, and governance.

The Principal Product Manager – Technical leads requirements definition, implementation strategy, governance, and communications to improve operations, promote effective process and tool adoption, and enable lasting operational change. The role shapes solution recommendations, highlights new capabilities, and delivers clear, consistent messaging that supports stakeholder visibility, strategic alignment, and measurable outcomes.

About the role

• Cross‑Functional Partnership & Alignment: Partner with engineering, data insights and reporting, ITSM, risk, security, operations, and Product Owners to translate operational, regulatory, and technology inputs into aligned, scalable adoption of platform capabilities and roadmaps
• Delivery & Execution: Own end‑to‑end feature delivery—from design through launch and post‑release performance—while proactively identifying risks, resolving gaps, and driving issues to closure.
• Adoption & Change Management: Lead adoption of operational processes and tool capabilities across the organization, ensuring measurable impact and continuous feedback loops.
• Communication & Stakeholder Influence: Develop and execute strategic push‑ and pull‑based communication to drive awareness, engagement, and visibility across operating committees, cabinet forums, and senior leadership venues.
• Metrics, Insights & Performance Management: Establish and govern metrics to monitor adoption, outcomes, performance, and operational health, providing regular executive visibility into trends, risks, and progress.
• Analysis & Executive Decision Support: Lead targeted, data driven analysis of complex or ambiguous problems, coordinating cross disciplinary efforts to evaluate options, assess tradeoffs, and deliver clear recommendations for executive decision making.

All about you

• 10+ years of product management and program leadership experience across technical domains, including partnering with product owners to shape multi‑product strategy and execution.
• Experience driving organizational change and influencing behavioral adoption across large operational teams.
• Proven success delivering complex, enterprise‑scale initiatives across platforms and products in fast‑moving, matrixed environments.
• Aptitude for structured problem‑solving and deep operational analysis of product capabilities, gaps, and workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to use data and metrics to inform decisions, prioritize trade‑offs, and drive continuous improvement.
• Hands‑on experience with agile delivery methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), CI/CD, and DevOps operating models.
• Able to operate with high autonomy while effectively influencing engineering, architecture, and business stakeholders.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with a track record of influencing senior leadership, stakeholders, and engineering partners through clear, credible engagement.
• Experience with BI and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Domo, or similar platforms), including KPI definition and data‑driven insight development.
• (Desirable) Experience with enterprise ITSM tools and operational governance, including established best practices, and a strong background in root cause analysis and incident, problem, and change management.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more. Pay Ranges

O'Fallon, Missouri: $156,000 - $265,000 USD
