Overview

In support of the ongoing operation and evolution of the CDIP platform, Mastercard is seeking a Manager of Software Engineering to lead a team of developers, including both internal employees and Statement-of-Work contractors. This leader will oversee the deployment, operation, and continuous enhancement of the platform while ensuring alignment with organizational standards and data governance requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data management operations, familiarity with data governance principles, knowledge of data protection best practices, and an awareness of privacy regulations that govern data usage and exposure.

Role

• Lead and manage a team of software engineers, including internal developers and external SOW contractors, responsible for building, deploying, operating, and enhancing the CDIP platform.
• Oversee development and delivery activities to ensure platform enhancements and releases are executed efficiently, reliably, and in alignment with business objectives.
• Partner closely with architecture and technical leadership to ensure development teams clearly understand system requirements, technical standards, and design expectations.
• Coordinate across internal and external stakeholders to ensure all development activities comply with Mastercard policies, security requirements, and engineering standards.
• Proactively identify, escalate, and resolve risks, issues, and blockers, ensuring leadership has clear visibility and teams remain aligned toward delivery goals.

• Brings a strong technical background with demonstrated experience leading and developing technical teams.
• Is comfortable managing and mentoring engineering talent, including conducting performance assessments and supporting ongoing growth and development.
• Possesses excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts clearly for both technical teams and business leadership.
• Collaborates effectively across teams and organizations to identify synergies, drive alignment, and maximize the impact of related initiatives.
• Clearly and concisely articulates technical challenges and proposed solutions, ensuring stakeholders understand risks, trade-offs, and next steps.
• Proactively identifies complementary products, tools, or services that can enhance customer outcomes and platform capabilities.
• Recognizes resource gaps or operational constraints and develops thoughtful, sustainable solutions that support team effectiveness and long-term success.
• Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication, confidently presenting vision, priorities, and roadmaps to a wide range of stakeholders.
• Maintains a solution-oriented mindset, consistently seeking opportunities to solve problems and improve processes, delivery, and outcomes.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more. Mastercard benefits for interns generally include: 56 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time; jury duty leave; and on-site fitness facilities in some locations.

Pay Ranges

O'Fallon, Missouri: $140,000 - $231,000 USD
