Overview

Mastercard Services is responsible for acquiring, engaging and retaining customers by supporting our clients with consulting, marketing services, data analytics, fraud and risk management, cybersecurity solutions, and other value-added services. We work closely with banks, fintechs, merchants, and governments to elevate the digital payments experience and drive strategic outcomes through expert-led, data-driven, and actionable insights.

Role Description and Major Responsibilities

• Lead and grow Mastercard Services engagements across key accounts (Financial Institutions) in Romania and the South East Europe region (SEE) in collaboration with Account and Business Development Managers
• Drive client development and sales opportunities across the full Mastercard Services portfolio – Consulting, Cyber & Intelligence, Data & Services
• Deliver against sales and revenue targets for existing and new accounts in the region
• Understand client needs, both expressed and implied, and shape tailored, strategic solutions
• Structure and lead complex projects, leveraging Mastercard's capabilities and regional expertise
• Support the development and delivery of compelling proposals and presentations, from storyboarding to client pitch
• Produce clear, concise, and impactful materials suitable for senior client stakeholders
• Guide project execution to ensure value delivery and client satisfaction, addressing challenges proactively
• Capture and share insights and best practices across the team to enhance collective knowledge
• Act as a thought partner to clients and colleagues; contribute to thought leadership (articles, blogs, webinars, etc.) relevant to the region
• Collaborate across Mastercard Services' capabilities to develop innovative, integrated client solutions

All About You

Education & Experience
• Undergraduate degree required
• Experience in business development within Payments, Security, or Professional Services
• Background in top-tier consulting firms or relevant financial services/cybersecurity environments
• Experience working with clients in Romania and/or South East Europe
• Knowledge of regional payments trends, fintech landscape, and digital transformation initiatives is highly advantageous

Skills

• Strong ability to identify, pursue, and close sales opportunities
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; fluency in Romanian or another SEE language is a plus
• Ability to translate complex client needs into compelling solutions and financial value
• Comfortable influencing across multiple stakeholder levels, including C-suite
• Strong project management and multitasking capabilities in a fast-paced environment
• Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred

• MBA or other relevant postgraduate degree
• Knowledge of Mastercard's solutions and ecosystem a plus
