Title and Summary

Senior Software Engineer The AI & DPE organization powers the DMP platform—a cloud native, real time decisioning and AI inferencing system that executes Fraud Rules, drives analytics, and supports enterprise decision management at global scale. DMP enables high throughput, low latency, and resilient decision flows, while modernizing Fraud Rule Engines and integrating advanced AI capabilities.
The Senior Software Engineer will follow solution architectural designs for Fraud Rules Engines and be a hands-on Rule Author. This role is a driving force for implementation best practices, bringing strong experience writing rules and deep capability in Fraud Rule Engines. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical expert with proven experience in large scale migrations and a strong commitment to timely delivery of key objectives. This role requires experience with Fraud Rules Engines, multiple programming languages, and AI experience, with success producing high quality project design deliverables and documentation.

Role Responsibilities:
• Proven experience in the modernization of platforms related to Fraud Rules/Engines and large-scale migrations.
• Build and operate scalable global platforms with high throughput, low latency, and 5 9's availability.
• Serve as a hands-on Rule Author with deep experience in Fraud Rules Engines.
• Apply familiarity with AI technologies like Gen AI and LLMs relevant to Fraud Rules.
• Follow solution architectural designs and ensure alignment with business needs, infrastructure capabilities, and security and compliance requirements.
• Drive implementation best practices, with strong capability in writing rules and improving rule quality.
• Utilize programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go.
• Act as a force multiplier for automation and platform enhancements.

All About You:
• Hands-on software development experience; familiar with DevOps and IT Operations best practices.
• Experience with Fraud Rule Engines and proven experience in large-scale migrations.
• Working experience across multiple programming languages and frameworks; enjoys declarative paradigms and functional programming.
• High-energy, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to function independently under pressure.
• Passion for continuous learning and challenging opportunities.
• Strong communication skills—verbal and written—with strong relationship building, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Drives outcomes through strong commitment to timely delivery of key objectives.
• Strong decision making skills and a continual improvement mindset.
• Solid experience with software development processes and one or more Application Lifecycle Management tools.
• Financial Domain experience, preferably Banking Domain.
• Success producing high quality project design deliverables and documentation.
• Extensive experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of loosely coupled and stateless systems.
• Demonstrated track record with AI.
• Familiarity with performance tuning and automation.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science (or extensive equivalent experience). In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay Ranges

O'Fallon, Missouri: $115,000 - $184,000 USD
