Mastercard Services is responsible for acquiring, engaging and retaining customers by managing fraud and risk, cybersecurity and improving the digital payments experience while providing value added services and using expertise, data-driven insights and execution.
Within Mastercard Services, our Customer Acquisition & Engagement business drives profitable business growth and maximizes customer lifetime value by transforming routine interactions into lasting relationships. We leverage our unique advantages in data, personalization, incentives, and optimization, in addition to our global expertise and scale, to efficiently acquire high value new customers, drive engagement and desired behaviors, and build customer loyalty. Our products encompass a full range of capabilities, including strategic consulting, campaign and creative design and execution, on-going optimization and personalization, rewards and offers, and loyalty program design and execution.

We are seeking a visionary and strategic engineering leader to drive the transformation of one of our key businesses within this group, which is poised for dramatic growth. In this role, you will play a critical role in shaping and delivering the technical vision and roadmap, unlocking synergies across our platforms, data assets, and partner relationships to create meaningful value for our customers. You will lead teams to build and scale innovative, data-driven solutions that connect consumers and retailers in relevant, impactful ways. This is a unique opportunity to lead a dynamic business into its next era of growth and impact at scale. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience developing technical strategy, building and leading high-performing engineering teams, and partnering with global and regional product executives to design and implement a clear, compelling roadmap for growth.
All About You:
Experienced engineering leader with deep Martech/Adtech industry expertise and experience in launching high-volume, low-latency global products, that are locally adapted and operate at scale. Partner closely with the Product organization to develop pragmatic roadmap that is future-compatible (cloud, on-soil, on-premises) and delivers value iteratively and rapidly in the MarTech/Adtech domain. Interface with senior executives at customers and prospects as part of solution delivery, and to develop deep industry insights. Part of Consumer Acquisition & Engagement Technology leadership team and collaborate with other program co-founders to deliver on synergies across the Consumer Acquisition and Engagement business for Mastercard.
Deep experience with tech stacks including but not limited to private and public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry, VMWare), microservices (e.g., Spring Boot, .NET Core, NodeJS), front-end (e.g., Angular, React, iOS, Android), data technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, Spark, Databricks, Snowflake, Kafka), automated testing, AI-enabled engineering productivity with LLMs and continuous delivery practices with a proven track record of operational excellence with security, privacy, and scale.
Deep subject matter expertise in MarTech domain including media buying systems and advertising automation systems at large agencies; experience integrating with platforms like Google Ads, Adobe Advertising Cloud, Amazon Ads, The Trade Desk and Magnite; ability to guide customer journey sessions with product teams, with guidance on technology, approach, and process weighing risks and opportunities.
Awareness of global privacy initiatives across government and industry (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, post-3rd-party-cookie, Apple IDFA/App Tracking Transparency) and implications to ethical digital marketing.
Bring a “tripod” view (across engineering, product, and program management) and balanced approach to build diverse teams with an inclusive culture and develop future leaders across Mastercard Technology Hubs. Ability to travel as needed (up to 50%) across these locations to manage teams and deepen business relationships. Candidate experience should include managing 10+ engineering scrum teams distributed across continents and functional areas.
Develop and execute a comprehensive staffing plan and vendor strategy that delivers on current ramp-up needs and niche skills utilizing partner resources, while retaining intellectual property to build out a core employee team for the future.
Converge platforms for Consumer Acquisition & Engagement products, merge innovative features from acquisitions with Mastercard's large scale solutions to deliver best-in-class customer solutions; simplify operating environment, increase operational health, and reduce duplication utilizing modern engineering principles and DevOps/DataOps/MLOps techniques.
Influence internal platforms at Mastercard to support rapid and iterative development and deployment of Consumer Acquisition & Engagement products. Review value stream to reduce and eliminate manual operations of product delivery and deliver digital transformation to increase customer satisfaction and speed of delivery.
Establish and execute inspection mechanisms to analyze roadmap durability, backlog health, velocity, quality, feature throughput, product performance and use this data to drive continuous improvements.
Support revenue growth and margin expansion in the Consumer Acquisition & Engagement business. Prior experience with evaluating platforms and acquisition opportunities is desirable.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, related functional area or equivalent work experience. Advanced degree or industry certifications are highly desirable.
