Role
Mastercard Commerce Media is our newly launched, dedicated media network- Commerce Media leverages permissioned transaction data, proprietary card-linking technology, and strategic partnerships to deliver personalized advertising and measurable ROI for advertisers and consumers.
We are seeking a visionary and strategic engineering leader to drive the transformation and growth of this key business. As SVP, Engineering, Commerce Media, you will shape and deliver the technical vision and roadmap, unlocking synergies across platforms, data assets, and partner relationships to create meaningful value for our customers. You will lead global teams to build and scale innovative, data-driven solutions that connect consumers and retailers in relevant, impactful ways.
Key Responsibilities

Define and execute the technical strategy for Commerce Media, driving transformation, platform convergence, and global scale.

Build and scale innovative solutions that leverage Mastercard's data, technology, and partnerships to deliver measurable outcomes for advertisers and consumers.

Lead the build and integration of MarTech/AdTech capabilities, including development of new ad formats, media buying systems, advertising automation, and ecosystem partners including Agencies, DSPs, and SSPs.

Champion operational excellence, security, privacy, and compliance in media and commerce technology, with deep awareness of global privacy initiatives (GDPR, CCPA, post-cookie, Apple IDFA/App Tracking Transparency).

Partner with Product and Program Management to deliver rapid, iterative value and support revenue growth and margin expansion.

Inspire, manage, and develop high-performing, distributed engineering teams, fostering a diverse and inclusive culture.

Develop and execute a comprehensive staffing and vendor strategy to support ramp-up needs and build a core employee team for the future.

Integrate innovative features from acquisitions with Mastercard's large-scale solutions, simplifying the operating environment and increasing operational health.

Influence internal platforms to support rapid and iterative development and deployment of Commerce Media capabilities.

Establish and execute inspection mechanisms to analyze roadmap durability, backlog health, velocity, quality, feature throughput, and product performance.

Support evaluation of platforms and acquisition opportunities to drive business growth.
All About You

You are a visionary and strategic engineering leader with deep expertise in AdTech/MarTech and a passion for driving transformation at scale.

You have hands-on experience with a broad range of technologies, including private and public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry, VMWare), microservices (Spring Boot, .NET Core, NodeJS), front-end frameworks (Angular, React, iOS, Android), and data technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, Spark, Databricks, Snowflake, Kafka). You champion automated testing, AI-enabled engineering productivity, and continuous delivery practices.

You thrive in complex, fast-paced environments and are comfortable challenging legacy systems and processes to foster innovation and operational excellence, utilizing modern DevOps, DataOps, and MLOps techniques.

You have a proven track record of managing 10+ engineering scrum teams distributed across continents and functional areas, building diverse teams with an inclusive culture, and developing future leaders across Mastercard Technology Hubs.

You bring exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams.

You are experienced in integrating media buying and advertising automation systems and have guided teams through partnerships with major platforms such as Google Ads, Adobe Advertising Cloud, Amazon Ads, The Trade Desk, and Magnite.

You are adept at developing and executing comprehensive staffing plans and vendor strategies, ramping up niche skills with partner resources while retaining intellectual property and building a core employee team.

You excel at merging innovative features from acquisitions with Mastercard's large-scale solutions, simplifying the operating environment, increasing operational health, and reducing duplication.

You establish and execute inspection mechanisms to analyze roadmap durability, backlog health, velocity, quality, feature throughput, and product performance, using data to drive continuous improvements.

You guide customer journey sessions with product teams and develop deep industry insights to inform technology, approach, and process.

You understand the global privacy landscape (GDPR, CCPA, post-cookie, Apple IDFA/App Tracking Transparency) and champion ethical digital marketing.

You are energized by the opportunity to shape the future of Commerce Media, driving measurable outcomes for Mastercard, our partners, and our customers.

You hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees or industry certifications are highly desirable

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
