Overview
Mastercard is strategically developing a new cloud-native data platform to power our data-driven solutions and services. This innovative data platform will provide a data mesh, suite of technologies and processes that a critical amount of Mastercard's solutions will leverage to scale and innovate.

The SVP of Product Management, Data Platform, will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of data at Mastercard, collaborating with engineering, product and operations teams to enhance and scale a new cloud-native data platform, helping it evolve into a critical enabler for innovation and business growth.

Key responsibilities include:
• Establishing a cloud-native data platform, strategy, and product roadmap that aligns with the strategic priorities of Mastercard and scales to meet future needs.
• Leading stakeholder engagement, analyzing market? trends, technology landscape, and a strategic target state with a phased implementation approach/plan
• Develop and implement strategies for cost optimization, balancing performance with financial efficiency through FinOps and vendor partnerships.
• Leading development roadmap with technology team, including build/buy/partner analysis
• Identifying necessary product features and investments based on business needs
• Internally influence/collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, product management, and operations to align the platform strategy with business goals
• Advocate for and implement modern data architecture principles, such as data lakes, data warehouses, and data meshes, to drive innovation and growth

All About You

• Proven track record leading global product management teams in complex business-to-business technology and/or payment businesses, driving success through high-growth phases
• Proven experience designing and managing data platform solutions for SaaS businesses, focusing on multi-tenant architectures and analytics
• Proven ability to quickly adapt, take initiative, and adopt a hands-on approach to execution
• Ability to effectively build and prioritize the product roadmap
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform and AI/ML platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake
• Strong focus on delivery, execution and readiness for scaled launch
• Strategic, analytical, and systematic thinker who consistently challenges the status quo and constructively challenges the team to drive change and continuous improvement
• Experience with big data analytics/AI and machine learning algorithms
• Strong collaboration and ability to partner effectively with virtual, fast-paced teams
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with senior executives
• Knowledge of the financial services and retail industries a plus
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative or technology field required

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
