Vice President, Transformation – GBSC People & Capability (P&C)
About the Role
As Vice President, Transformation for GBSC P&C, this leader will partner to architect and lead Mastercard's multi-year P&C modernization strategy within the GBSC—redefining how the function operates at global scale. This role is accountable for transforming the GBSC P&C technology ecosystem, governance frameworks, and service delivery model to drive measurable enterprise value in efficiency, compliance, data integrity, risk reduction, and employee experience.
Operating at the intersection of business strategy, HR operations, and technology, the VP will integrate people, process, data, and platforms into a cohesive transformation portfolio that strengthens operational resilience and enables scalable growth.
Key Areas of Accountability
• Define and lead the multi-year P&C modernization roadmap within GBSC P&C, including value case development, investment prioritization, phased delivery sequencing, and success metrics.
• Integrate payroll, Workday, talent operations, compliance, integrations, and service delivery initiatives into a coordinated enterprise transformation portfolio with clear ownership and delivery accountability.
• Translate enterprise strategy into executable transformation programs that advance scalability, simplification, and operational resilience across the global GBSC P&C ecosystem.
• Redesign and standardize end-to-end global GBSC P&C processes (payroll, benefits, onboarding, job changes, security models, talent operations) to reduce manual effort, strengthen internal controls, and improve service performance.
• Optimize the GBSC operating model to clarify decision rights, eliminate redundancy, and improve productivity at scale.
• Partner with Technology and Product organizations to enhance Workday and adjacent platforms, strengthen system integrations, and improve platform scalability and performance.
• Expand automation and responsible AI enablement to accelerate service delivery and improve employee and manager experience.
• Build and institutionalize transparent transformation governance, including executive reporting, risk oversight, and value realization tracking.
• Oversee a complex portfolio of interdependent initiatives, proactively managing sequencing, risk mitigation, and cross-functional alignment to ensure on-time, on-value delivery.
• Lead a process owner-optimization team across a hybrid delivery model of internal talent and external partners, strengthening capability, accountability, and execution discipline.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, providing forward-looking insights, structured escalation management, and data-driven recommendations.
• Drive sustained organizational adoption by championing simplification, accountability, and modernization mindsets across stakeholders.
Required Experience & Leadership Capabilities
• 10+ years leading enterprise-scale HR, shared services, or operational transformation within complex, matrixed global organizations.
• Demonstrated experience designing and executing large-scale modernization programs within global HR environments, including cloud-based HCM platforms and multi-country payroll operations.
• Strong financial acumen with experience stewarding significant transformation investments and aligning initiatives to measurable business outcomes.
• Expertise in operating model design, global service delivery structures, and end-to-end process architecture.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity while maintaining execution focus in fast-paced, high-accountability environments.
• Executive presence with the credibility and influence to engage C-suite leaders and align diverse stakeholder groups.
• Sophisticated program and risk management capabilities, with disciplined oversight of large, cross-functional initiatives.
