Type: Full Time Salaried

Compensation: $58,400 - $84,700

Location: Remote

Hours: Full Time Days

Position Summary: 

The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the overall financial health, compliance, and reporting accuracy of the organization. As an individual contributor within the Accounting department, this role is responsible for executing various accounting functions including month-end close, financial reporting, audit support, system improvements, and cross-functional collaboration. The Staff Accountant will also support internal process reviews and contribute to ad hoc financial projects that drive efficiency and integrity across the department.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Financial Reporting & General Ledger

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure transactions are properly recorded, reconciled, and supported.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports in compliance with GAAP and SEC guidelines.
  • Ensure accuracy of ledger entries and reconcile subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger.
  • Analyze financial commitments and obligations to support budgeting and forecasting processes.

Month-End Close & External Audit

  • Lead and support activities related to the month-end close process, driving accuracy and timely completion.
  • Serve as a liaison to external auditors, preparing requested schedules and providing documentation.
  • Prepare and review complex accounting transactions including revenue recognition, leases, and capital expenditures.

Process Improvement & Systems Optimization

  • Identify and implement best practices to streamline accounting operations and enhance reporting efficiency.
  • Leverage system functionality (e.g., NetSuite, Blackline) to improve the month-end close process and reconciliation procedures.
  • Participate in the implementation or upgrade of accounting systems and related tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including HR, FP&A, A/R, A/P, Tax, Treasury, and Payroll.

Compliance & Policy Development

  • Conduct research on accounting regulations and provide guidance on their impact to company policies.
  • Ensure all financial reporting and practices are compliant with relevant internal controls and external standards.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting/finance experience, including at least 2 years in a large public company environment.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and financial statement preparation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using accounting systems and tools; NetSuite and Blackline strongly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.
