This position has the option to work hybrid or remote. Note, requires a minimum of (1) to (2) days per month in-office in Brooklyn, Ohio. Ohio residents preferred.

Responsibilities

Population Health Science Analyst I

Builds, supports, and evaluates new and existing programs, and improves targeting. Conducts clinical analytics to support decision making, and ensures consistency of reporting, builds indicators and curated analytic tables. Takes a consultative approach with other departments, building relationships and supporting partners in clinical and population health services.

·         Designs and executes quantitative and qualitative analyses to measure program effectiveness. With other team members, enhances existing clinical algorithms and predictive models to target program outreach. Assesses health status, disease burden, healthcare utilization and cost, impact of social determinants of health, health ownership and engagement and other indicators on the member population.

·         Designs data tools to enable quick information discovery. Maintains data documentation. Provides up to date information regarding data availability, capabilities, and appropriate use of data elements.

·         Analyzes healthcare data from multiple sources to identify best practices, care delivery trends, and clinical practice variations.

·         Communicates analytic results, conclusions, and actionable recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.

·         Builds and maintains knowledge of advances in analytics, evaluation, data governance, data sources and subject matter expertise pertaining to population health.

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

Population Health Science Analyst II

Builds, supports, and evaluates new and existing programs, and improves targeting. Conducts clinical analytics to support decision making, and ensures consistency of reporting, builds indicators and curated analytic tables. Takes a consultative approach with other departments, building relationships and supporting partners in clinical and population health services.

·         Designs and executes quantitative and qualitative analyses to measure program effectiveness. Enhances existing clinical algorithms and predictive models to target program outreach, detect member and provider behavior patterns, and profile members and providers. Assesses health status, disease burden, healthcare utilization and cost, impact of social determinants of health, health ownership and engagement and other indicators on the member population.

·         Designs data tools to enable quick information discovery. Maintains data documentation. Provides expertise regarding data availability, capabilities, and appropriate use of data elements.

·         Analyzes complex healthcare data from multiple sources to identify best practices, care delivery trends, and clinical practice variations. Coaches and mentors junior team members.

·         Communicates analytic results, conclusions, and actionable recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.

·         Builds and maintains knowledge of advances in analytics, evaluation, data governance, data sources and subject matter expertise pertaining to population health.

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

Senior Population Health Science Analyst

Takes a consultative approach with other departments, building relationships and supporting partners in clinical and population health services.

Applies advanced analytic and data mining techniques to develop or enhance existing clinical algorithms and predictive models to target program outreach, detect member and provider behavior patterns, and profile members and providers. Assesses health status, disease burden, healthcare utilization and cost, impact of social determinants of health, health ownership and engagement and other indicators on the member population.

·         Designs data tools to enable quick information discovery as well as advanced analytics. Maintains data documentation. Improves data flows and processing. Provides expertise regarding data availability, capabilities, and appropriate use of data elements and analytic results.

·         Analyzes complex healthcare data from multiple sources to identify best practices, care delivery trends, and clinical practice variations. Collaborates across the company as a subject matter expert.

·         Collaborates with non-technical, internal data consumers and technical staff. Communicates analytic results, conclusions, and actionable recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences. Coaches and mentors junior team members.

·         Builds and maintains knowledge of advances in analytics, evaluation, data governance, data sources and subject matter expertise pertaining to population health.

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

Lead Population Health Science Analyst

Under minimal supervision and with some latitude for decision making, builds, supports, and evaluates new and existing programs, and improves targeting with advanced algorithms and predictive models. Conducts advanced clinical analytics to support decision making, and ensures consistency of reporting, builds indicators and curated analytic tables. Works to streamline internal processes. Takes a consultative approach with other departments, building relationships and supporting partners in clinical and population health services.

·         Designs and executes quantitative and qualitative analyses to measure program effectiveness. Applies advanced analytic and data mining techniques to develop or enhance existing clinical algorithms and predictive models to target program outreach, detect member and provider behavior patterns, and profile members and providers. Assesses health status, disease burden, healthcare utilization and cost, impact of social determinants of health, health ownership and engagement and other indicators on the member population.

·         Designs data tools to enable quick information discovery as well as advanced analytics. Furthers the development and enhancement of analytic deliverables (reports, dashboards, presentations, etc.) Maintains data documentation. Improves data flows and processing. Work with clinical staff and administration to develop standard measure definitions specific to Company programs. Provides expertise regarding data availability, capabilities, and appropriate use of data elements and analytic results.

·         Analyzes complex healthcare data from multiple sources to identify best practices, care delivery trends, and clinical practice variations.  Collaborates across the company as a subject matter expert to define, develop, evaluate, and improve population health programs.

·         Collaborates with non-technical, internal data consumers and technical staff to build self-service information tools. Communicates analytic results, conclusions, and actionable recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences. Coaches and mentors junior team members. May participate in interviewing and recommendations for hire, provides input on performance evaluations and training and development of staff.

·         Builds and maintains knowledge of advances in analytics, evaluation, data governance, data sources and subject matter expertise pertaining to population health.

·         Performs other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

Population Health Science Analyst I

·         Master's degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, clinical or health informatics, computational biology, or a related quantitative or health field required.

·         1 year of experience conducting analyses and delivering results to internal and external stakeholders and leadership, in a health care plan/services, research, or a related field.

·         Basic to intermediate proficiency in analytical programming languages (SAS, SQL, Python or R).

·         Ability to query, clean, manipulate and integrate data from multiple tables and/or sources.

·         Knowledge of study design and methodology, statistical tests, surveillance, and program evaluation.

·         Knowledge of population health management programs and interventions.

·         Knowledge of health care service, data sources, and structures.

·         Training in any of the following: epidemiological methods, population health sciences, statistics, informatics, or analytic engineering.

·         Effective communication – written, verbal, and visual.

Population Health Science Analyst II

·         Master's degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, clinical or health informatics, computational biology, or a related quantitative or health field required.

·         2 years of experience as a Population Health Science Analyst or equivalent 3 years of experience conducting analyses and delivering results to internal and external stakeholders and leadership, in a health care plan/services, research, or a related field.

·         Intermediate to advanced proficiency in analytical programming languages (SAS, SQL, Python or R).

·         Ability to query, clean, manipulate and integrate data from multiple tables and/or sources.

·         Strong knowledge of study design and methodology, statistical tests, surveillance, and program evaluation.

·         Strong knowledge of population health management programs and interventions.

·         5 years of progressive experience as a Population Health Sciences Analyst or equivalent experience conducting analyses and delivering results to internal and external stakeholders and leadership, in a health care plan/services, research, or a related field.

·         Ability to query, clean, manipulate and integrate data from multiple tables and/or sources.

·         Strong knowledge of study design and methodology, statistical tests, surveillance, and program evaluation.
