Wellness Program Manager I

Job Summary:    

Under direct supervision, develops, implements, and administers smaller and/or more routine assigned portfolio of wellness programs aimed at improving quality, cost, and health outcome goals for client groups and members. Collaborates with internal departments, client group representatives, and vendors to promote wellness services and optimize client group health and wellness benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages an assigned portfolio, often under supervision, of typically smaller and/or more routine client groups. Formulates wellness program strategy and design and collaborates interdepartmentally and/or with vendor partners to manage implementation and ongoing account relationship.
  • Participates in departmental and divisional projects offering research on health and wellness trends to ensure the Company's market leadership in Wellness. Supports population health and wellness initiatives and outreach programs that incorporate new and existing evidence-based strategies.
  • Supports external vendor relationship management that complement the Company's wellness initiatives. Supports cross-functional teams through implementation and assures program is maintained according to plan and within budget.
  • Develops relationships with brokers and employer groups. Implements customized strategies and incentives to optimize health outcomes and promote cost reductions.
  • Supports more senior staff with new business growth and development and vendor contract negotiations. Responds to Request for Proposals and attends wellness program options in finalist meetings. Collaborates with management, legal and finance in assembling cost/benefit analyses, corporate funds requests, and reporting.
  • Learns and maintains knowledge of federal and regulatory guidelines and NCQA standards associated with wellness programs. Supports more senior staff with updates to policies and procedures and delegated vendor oversight as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Wellness Program Manager II

Job Summary:

Collaborates with internal departments, client group representatives, and vendors to promote wellness services and optimize client group health and wellness benefits.

Senior Wellness Program Manager

Job Summary:    

Under limited supervision, develops, implements, and administers larger and/or more complex assigned portfolio of wellness programs aimed at improving quality, cost, and health outcome goals for client groups and members. Collaborates with internal departments, client group representatives, and vendors to promote wellness services and optimize client group health and wellness benefits.

Qualifications:

Wellness Program Manager I

  • Bachelor's degree in health and wellness, health care administration, public health or related field
  • Up to 1 year experience developing and implementing wellness programs and interventions in a health plan or an employer group.
  • Registered Dietitian, Certified Health Education Specialist, or Exercise Physiologist preferred.
  • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.
  • Knowledge of population health and wellness programs.
  • Basic knowledge of NCQA, HEDIS, regulatory, and compliance related to quality improvement programs.
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate and present to various internal and external audiences.
  • Good vendor relationship management skills.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Wellness Program Manager II

  • Bachelor's degree in health and wellness, health care administration, public health or related field . Master's degree preferred.
  • 3 years progressive experience as a Wellness Program Manager or equivalent experience developing and implementing wellness programs and interventions in a health plan or an employer group.
  • Registered Dietitian, Certified Health Education Specialist, or Exercise Physiologist preferred.
  • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.
  • Knowledge of population health and wellness programs with the ability to design, plan, deliver and evaluate programs to large and small health plan client groups.
  • Knowledge of NCQA, HEDIS, regulatory, and compliance related to quality improvement programs.
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate and present to various internal and external audiences.
  • Good vendor relationship management skills.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

 Senior Wellness Program Manager

  • Bachelor's degree in health and wellness, health care administration, public health or related field . Master's degree preferred.
  • 5 years progressive experience as a Wellness Program Manager or equivalent experience developing and implementing wellness programs and interventions in a health plan or an employer group.
  • Registered Dietitian, Certified Health Education Specialist, or Exercise Physiologist preferred.
  • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of population health and wellness programs with the ability to design, plan, deliver and evaluate programs to large and small health plan client groups.
  • Knowledge of NCQA, HEDIS, regulatory, and compliance related to quality improvement programs.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate and present to various internal and external audiences.
  • Strong vendor relationship management skills.
