General Summary of Position
Works in partnership with local communities and Clinical Health Educators to design implement and evaluate health promotion prevention and education programs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies procedures quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
- Facilitate/teach/staff various community based health education programs health and wellness events and support groups.
- Performs various health screenings including phlebotomy flu vaccinations and point-of-care testing.
- Provide coverage (when assigned) for in-patient hospital rounding for delivery of patient education out-patient support coordination and family/caregiver engagement.
- Adhere to Health Connections PRN policy.
- Work on assigned grant related projects to include collection and reporting of identified data points and outcome measurements.
- Required to communicate with Health Connections leadership with timely response to monthly schedules and departmental requests.
- Required to staff a minimum of 24 events/classes annually of which four will be weekend events including Delicado's Women's Wellness Day.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and participate in the development and promotion of clinical practices following MedStar St. Mary's Hospital observed Standards of Care.
Minimal Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in health related field required or
- Associate's degree in health related field with10 year's experience. required
Experience
- 1-2 years Experience in adult education/training. required
Licenses and Certifications
- ABLS - Advanced Burn Life Support required
