General Summary of Position
The Immigration Specialist is a strategic member of the Human Resources team responsible for managing and coordinating employment-based immigration processes for the organization. This role ensures compliance with federal and international immigration laws and policies while supporting the recruitment visa processing onboarding and retention of foreign national associates. The role requires a strong understanding of HR processes and knowledge to assist associates in navigating the immigration lifecycle with care efficiency and accuracy. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employment-based immigration matters across the organization. Monitor regulatory changes to advise on impact in partnership with internal and external legal counsel
- Manage the full lifecycle of global work permit visa and residency applications coordinating with external legal counsel
- Partner with external immigration counsel hiring managers Talent Acquisition, HR business partners, and Human Resources Solution Center to initiate and manage work visa applications extensions adjustments of status and permanent residency processes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant immigration regulations (e.g. USCIS DOL ICE CBP) and maintain accurate documentation for audit readiness.
- Coordinate and manage Labor Condition Applications (LCAs) Public Access Files and PERM-related documentation.
- Ensure all required DOL postings for H-1B PERM and I-140 applications are completed on time.
- Guide employees through the immigration process providing clear communication and support during onboarding renewal and status change events.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to assess visa eligibility for prospective hires and provide strategic immigration guidance during offer negotiations.
- Maintain and update internal immigration tracking systems and employee records in conjunction with HR.
- Maintain records in systems to support audits reporting and internal tracking.
- Monitor expiration dates and proactively manage renewal timelines to avoid interruptions in work authorization.
- May be asked to participate in I-9 re-verification projects and support overall I-9 employment verification documentation and processes
- Conduct internal training and education for HR recruiters and managers on immigration-related topics.
- Partner with Global Mobility or Relocation teams (if applicable) and outside vendors to support international transfers and cross-border employment solutions.
Minimal Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Legal Studies, or related field required
Experience
- 3-4 years of experience in employment-based immigration within a corporate HR or legal setting required
- 3-4 years experience with immigration case management required
- 3-4 years experience and a strong working knowledge of U.S. immigration processes including H-1B TN J-1 F-1/OPT/CPT/STEM PERM I-140 and green card sponsorship required
Licenses and Certifications
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR)-HRCI Upon Hire preferred or
- SHRM-CP Upon Hire preferred

This position has a hiring range of
USD $63,793.00 - USD $113,318.00 /Yr.
