About the Job
MedStar Health is seeking a highly skilled, Board Certified Nuclear Medicine Specialist to join our dedicated seven-physician nuclear medicine group. We are a specialized subset of MedStar Medical Group Radiology, a large, premier radiology practice with over 120 radiologists serving the D.C. and Maryland regions. The position is based at Washington Hospital Center, with the ability to provide remote cross-coverage to all other Medstar hospitals.
Important Qualification Note:
This position is strictly for dedicated Nuclear Medicine specialists. We are currently only accepting applications from physicians board-certified in Nuclear Medicine and are not considering dual-boarded (Radiology/Nuclear Medicine) candidates for this specific opening.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert interpretation of a full range of general nuclear medicine and molecular imaging procedures, including PET/CT and SPECT/CT.
- Demonstrate clinical proficiency in multiple PET/CT modalities, including Cardiac, Neuroendocrine (NET), and PSMA imaging.
- Oversee and perform specialized therapies and diagnostic exams (Theranostics) within our state-of-the-art facilities.
- Collaborate closely with a team of seven dedicated nuclear medicine colleagues and the broader radiology group to ensure clinical excellence.
Qualifications
- Certification: Board Certification in Nuclear Medicine is required. Board Eligible candidates may also apply and will be considered on a case-by-case basis pending thorough training program review and reference verification.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience is preferred. However, we will consider candidates with fewer years of experience on a case basis if they have had significant exposure to state-of-the-art imaging technologies and advanced modalities during training or previous practice.
- Licensure: Ability to obtain or maintain a medical license in Washington, D.C. and Maryland.
