This position is hybrid and expectations are at least two days per week reporting to MedStar Health's Columbia Headquarters office.

 

General Summary of Position

 

Under general supervision of the Senior Director Q&S Operations plays a lead role in developing operating and improving the efficiency of the components of programs and initiatives. This position supports the planning execution and evaluation of initiatives designed to improve patient outcomes reduce harm and align operational goals with systemwide Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The Manager is responsible for advancing quality and safety improvement efforts through standardized processes analytics communications and cross-functional collaboration.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Develops and contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies procedures quality standards and safety standards. Ensures compliance with hospital/facility policies and procedures and governmental/accreditation regulations.
  • Contributes to the tactical and operational effectiveness of the Quality & Safety department ensuring all improvement activities are aligned with departmental and system strategies.
  • Collaborates with teams to identify opportunities for improvement streamline workflows and support the achievement of measurable quality and safety outcomes.
  • Conducts reviews and evaluations for cost reduction and opportunities to increase efficiency in departmental operations while maintaining focus on improving quality and patient safety. Analyzes processes management methods and the department's actual performance compared to the strategic plans and tactical approaches.
  • Develops communications plans and materials to deliver updates and outcomes to MedStar Health Leadership Team Senior Managers quality committee board members and other stakeholders.
  • Drives change by developing standardized processes to improve department efficiency and towards the achievement of department goals. Promotes existing and new programs and/or policies.
  • Supports the development dissemination and adherence to standardized policies procedures and best practices across hospitals and ambulatory sites.
  • Oversees operational dashboards of outstanding and ongoing projects. Responsible for the production procurement and planning of daily operations
  • Oversees the processing of requisitions for supplies materials and equipment; supervises supply and cost-incurring activities.
  • Responsible for the overall operational planning development coordination implementation and management of department initiatives.
  • Promotes a culture of continuous learning and proactive improvement within the Quality & Safety teams.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary improvement teams committees and community outreach initiatives that support MedStar's mission of safe high-quality care.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams and maintains effective working relationships with other departments.

Minimal Qualifications
Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent work experience required
  • Master's degree preferred

Experience

  • 3-4 years Progressively more responsible job experience particularly in business management functions required

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills to support working in project environments that include internal external and customer teams.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word Excel Outlook Visio and PowerPoint.
  • Strong planning project management and organizational skills and a proven track record of meeting deadlines with high-quality work products.

This position has a hiring range of

USD $82,617.00 - USD $157,352.00 /Yr.
