We are seeking a PRN Daytime Hospitalist Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the Baltimore Region.
General Summary of Position
Delivery of exceptional, patient-centered care as a key member of a fast-paced inpatient hospital medicine team. Performs comprehensive evaluations, including detailed histories and physical examinations, documents thorough progress notes, and manages a wide spectrum of acute and complex medical conditions across the continuum of hospitalization. Develops and executes evidence-based treatment plans, enters medical orders and prescriptions, and partners closely with attending physicians and interdisciplinary teams to drive high-quality outcomes. Engages in clinical decision-making that enhance patient safety and patient experience. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides comprehensive inpatient care, including histories, physical exams, assessment of acute and chronic conditions, and development of evidence-based treatment plans.
- Documents progress notes, admission and discharge summaries, and updates electronic medical records to reflect patient status, treatment, and procedures performed.
- Orders, reviews, and interprets laboratory and diagnostic studies, adjusts medications as indicated, and communicates significant findings to the attending physician and care team.
- Collaborates closely with attending physicians, consulting specialists, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and optimize outcomes.
- Participates in clinical decision-making, including triaging patient concerns, managing emergent events, and implementing quality improvement initiatives.
- Provides patient education, emotional support, and counseling to patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Facilitates smooth patient flow by coordinating admissions, transfers, consults, and discharges, acting as a liaison between patients, physicians, and other departments.
- Maintains compliance with hospital, state, and federal regulations, infection control protocols, and safety standards (including OSHA).
- Provides mentorship and support to nursing staff, and other team members, contributing to education and team-based patient care.
Minimal Qualifications
Education: Completion of a physician assistant training program accredited by the Accreditation Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) AND Current PA-C designation
Completion of an accredited nurse practitioner program AND Current Acute Care NP certification
Experience
· 2+ years Related experience
Additional requirements
· BLS and ACLS for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
This position has a hiring range of
USD $90.00 - USD $100.00 /Hr.
