General Summary of Position
This position represents non-patient care duties such as general cleaning and processing of ventilators and other general equipment used by the department. Additional duties include but are not limited to stocking of supplies inventorying and trending the use of medical gases inspection of medical gas outlets as directed and other duties as assigned.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Cleans and processes instrumentation between procedures following established protocol. Ensures equipment isfunctioning properly.
- Disassembles and reassembles department equipment performing related equipment function checks. Cleansequipment/parts according to established protocols.
- Obtains and delivers instrumentation/supplies to/from Sterile Processing Department stock area and/or MaterialManagement.
- Maintains stock levels of supplies including sterile and disposable supplies for designated locations throughout thehospital including but not limited to: The Operating Room Labor & Delivery MedSTAR the Emergency Room etc.Replaces depleted stock to par levels. Places orders to replenish stock.
Minimal Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required and
- Vocational/Technical Diploma enrollment in a COARC approved Resp Therp program required or
- Associate's degree enrollment in a COARC approved Resp Therp program required
- One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience
- Less than 1 year Respiratory Therapy clinical rotation experience in an acute care hospital preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross. Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit. within 90 Days required
This position has a hiring range of
USD $18.70 - USD $32.72 /Hr.
