MedStar Health is looking for a Supervisor of the Vascular department to join our team at MedStar Cardiology Associates Annapolis! The ideal candidate will possess mathematical and organizational skills and the ability to recognize emergency medical situations.

POSITION SUMMARY

Supervises the day-to-day operations of the Vascular Laboratory, ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with Hospital/Ambulatory practice standards as well as regulatory, legal, and accreditation agency requirements.  Assures the provision of quality patient care services and efficient operations, including staff supervision, monitoring of supplies and equipment, and data management.  Evaluates studies performed in the Vascular Laboratory and provides additional education as needed.  Performs all vascular examinations.

Primary Duties:

  • Ensures compliance with departmental goals, policies, procedures, and all regulatory, quality, and safety standards, including accreditation requirements.
  • Oversees daily operations, including staff supervision, scheduling, hiring, training, performance management, and ensuring adequate coverage.
  • Manages accreditation processes, performance improvement initiatives, and participates in quality and service enhancement efforts.
  • Oversees department resources, including budget management, payroll support, and the procurement and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Performs and supports vascular testing procedures, ensures accurate documentation and billing, and maintains strong communication with patients, families, and physicians.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Associate's degree in the allied health field (Preferred) and
  • Graduation from an accredited ultrasound program (Required) and
  • 12-month experience in vascular testing procedures (Required)
  • 5-7 years of progressively more responsible job-related experience in non-invasive vascular laboratory performing vascular procedures
  • CPR-Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (Includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross-Within 90 Days (Required) and
  • Additional unit/Specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit.
  • ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) registration in Register Vascular Technology, or RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (Required), and 
  • ACLS- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification, CPR certification, and ACLS (Preferred)

 


This position has a hiring range of

USD $102,606.00 - USD $196,996.00 /Yr.
