General Summary of Position
The Administrative Assistant - DC Community Wellness Center plays a key role in supporting the daily operations and outreach efforts of the center. This position provides administrative and clerical support to the on-site associates, ensuring smooth coordination of programs, events, activities and initiatives. Key responsibilities include scheduling and managing appointments, preparing and maintaining documentation, assisting with event logistics, handling incoming communications, and serving as a welcoming point of contact for community members and partners.
This is an onsite role Monday - Friday 8:30am-5:30pm at the MedStar DC Community Wellness Center located at 3924 Minnesota Avenue, Washington, DC.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required and
- Associate's degree preferred
- Vocational/Technical Diploma Business courses or administrative/secretarial training preferred
- One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience
- 1-2 years Clinical or office experience required and
- 1-2 years Experience working in healthcare or community outreach settings. preferred
- One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and committed to promoting health and wellness in underserved communities.
This position has a hiring range of $20.17 - $35.04
