General Summary of Position
This position serves as an entry level Administrative Operations Manager for the department. Specific duties and responsibilities will vary based on departmental needs . Responsible for personnel, payroll, computerized systems, telecommunications, facilities, and Department special projects. Serves as the administrative contact for all information requests. Supervises and trains all Department support staff and coordinates patient scheduling and treatment activities. Acts as a liaison between the Department Chief, departmental director, clinical operations administrator and physicians, patients, and staff with matters related to patient care and clinical operations; strategic planning of revenue generation with Department Chief, financial manager and clinical operations manager. Interacts between patients and the Department handling complex problems and customer satisfaction concerns; provides assistance with planning identification and team problem solving. These functions are performed in accordance with Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.

Education
- Bachelor's degree Business or Health Related field required
Experience
- 3-4 years A minimum of three years of relevant administrative experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to work as a team player. Ability to interact well with physicians and patient families. Total computer familiarity. Must have prior knowledge of medical terminology Must be able to handle multiple tasks and communicate with several persons in a multilevel capacity. Particular importance is placed on excellent customer service to the patients being admitted, the families of those patients, and the admitting physicians.
