General Summary of Position
Partners with the Medical Director for Patient Safety under general supervision of the Vice President of Medical Affairs (VPMA) and the health system safety team to initiate proactive risk identification and mitigation by continuously assessing and executing a safety culture program aligned with the MedStar Health system approach. Develops close working relationships with entity and system level leaders to lead key safety culture initiatives and ensure entity compliance. Identifies metrics and processes to ensure that key parameters of the safety program are measured, monitored and continuously improved.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Factors, Health Administration, Healthcare (ie: APP, nursing, pharmacy, PT/OT) Clinical Data. required and
- Master's degree preferred
- One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience
- 10+ years Experience with electronic health records, occurrence reporting systems and other data systems. required and
- Experience working within a team environment as member, facilitator, and process manager. Proven record of managing projects to successful completion. required and
- Proven record of managing projects to successful completion. required
- One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Working knowledge of robust safety management program operations, program operations, processes, and policies
- Demonstrated understanding of performance improvement mechanisms and data experience working effectively with patient safety officers, risk management teams, other leaders, and front-line staff.
- Ability to work effectively with patient safety officers, risk management teams, other leaders, and front-line staff
- Knowledge of Safety Science
- Strong communication, organizational, and planning skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple, complex projects simultaneously
- Working knowledge of various computer software applications.
- Documentation skills including collaboration on report metrics, strong skills in relationship management in both leadership and staff environments.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with high level of problem-solving capabilities
