General Summary of Position
In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation and preservation of surgical tissue and cytopathology specimens submitted to the laboratory. Your duties will include microtomy, embedding, and immunohistochemistry (IHC) prior to submission to the pathologists for microscopic examination and diagnosis.
This is a PRN position, ideal working hours would be at minimum one long weekend per month- Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Hours may vary but 6am-2:30pm would be the preferable schedule. Flexibility for evening shift hours on Friday.
Training for this role will be for two weeks approximately 4 hours per day prior to transitioning to weekends. We can be flexible with training hours if needed, day or evening shift.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Associate's degree Associate degree or Higher-level degree or equivalent training, such as completion of an accredited program in Histotechnology, 60 semester credit hours, including 12 hours of biology or chemistry, is required. required
Experience
- 3 or more years of experience preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
- ASCP - American Society of Clinical Pathologist ASCP Certification as a Histotechnician or eligibility is required. ASCP certification preferred. required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills required. Considerable and current knowledge of principles, methods, and techniques of clinical laboratory science. Ability to apply technical knowledge with accuracy in the completion of complex tests. Problem solving capability with the ability to assess accuracy of results.
This position has a hiring range of $29.15 - $51.68
