General Summary of Position
The HR Solution Center (HRSC) Advisor plays a pivotal role in delivering a seamless and efficient HR service experience, ensuring associates and leaders receive timely, accurate, and high-quality support. Operating in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, the HRSC Advisor manages moderate to complex HR inquiries, providing guidance on policy interpretation, HR workflows, and process navigation while maintaining consistency in service delivery. This role serves as a strategic liaison between associates, leaders, and HR Centers of Expertise (COEs), driving efficiency and continuous improvement in HR solutions and processes. As the primary point of contact for associates and leaders, the HRSC Advisor provides expert HR consultation when self-service options are insufficient. This role operates with independence and sound judgment, effectively navigating ambiguity and complex situations through strategic, innovative problem-solving. A strong foundation in HR generalist knowledge is essential, as the HRSC Advisor delivers expert guidance and interpretation of HR policies, procedures, and systems, ensuring accurate and timely resolution of inquiries. The role requires discretion in case resolution, including identifying root causes and proactively implementing measures to prevent recurring issues. Additionally, HRSC Advisors conduct compliance reporting and audits to identify potential risks and ensure adherence to regulatory and organizational standards. They develop and implement action plans to address audit findings, troubleshoot solutions to validate and verify outcomes, and collaborate with associates and leaders to maintain data integrity while driving continuous improvement.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Minimal Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or similar field. required
Experience
- 3-4 years Experience in human resources required or
- 3-4 years Combination of experience in human resources and fast-paced customer service/contact center industry required
- One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.
Licenses and Certifications
- SHRM-CP preferred or
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR)-HRCI preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong HR generalist knowledge including the ability to confidently address general inquiries regarding pay, benefits, policies, life events, employment law, escalation procedures, and guidance to all HR resources.
- Ability to quickly learn and digest brand new programs, policies, and procedures being rolled out at MedStar such that knowledgeable support can be provided to associates and leaders seamlessly
- Ability to work autonomously to problem solve and think critically
- Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills and ability to prioritize and deliver assignments in a timely manner, often under time pressures.
- Great active listening skills.
- Ability to make decisions pragmatically, balancing operational needs, risk, cultural priorities and long-term impact.
- Exceptional rapport-building skills with a patient and empathetic attitude.
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Office; experience with HRIS systems preferred.
- Computer literacy is required, with the ability to navigate multiple screens and windows with ease.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and handle multiple projects concurrently.
- Ability to effectively coach frontline managers and business unit leaders on routine HR and business-related issues.
- Adaptable to work with a variety of situations, individuals, and groups.
- Thoroughness in accomplishing a task with consideration for all the areas involved.

This position has a hiring range of $28.76 - $48.96
