Description

In coordination with leadership, plans and implements communication strategies and tactics that drive results in reaching entity specific and/or regional internal audiences, particularly physicians and associates. Strategizes, coordinates and develops content for multiple communication channels in support of the overall internal communications strategy. With minimal direction, works independently, collaboratively and with content experts to provide communications support for leadership, key departments, and committees. Supports critical message development and execution across the hospital(s).
Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications or Marketing required
  • One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience
  • 3-4 years Internal Communications, marketing or related experience required and
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Comprehensive understanding of all aspects related to effective, strategic communication with an emphasis on nuanced messaging, writing, and printing.
  • Some internal events planning.
  • Creativity and ability to organize and handle many details.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-directed individual and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Builds out multifaceted internal communications initiatives to reach specific internal stakeholders, serving as liaison to all departments involved, setting and meeting deadlines, and achieving goals.
  • Collaborates with digital marketing and multiple system internal stakeholders to create strategies, implement communications, monitor and evaluate analytics of distributed communications in support of internal communication initiatives.
  • Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
  • Develops and distributes communications materials for the administration and promotion of all system surveys (associate, physician, safety, etc.).
  • Develops and implements a suite of internal communication collateral resources and ensures distribution within the entity and/or region.
  • Implements and disseminates communications related to key entity, region and/or system initiatives, including tailoring communications from Operational Communications toolkits and other sources to meet the needs of targeted stakeholder populations within the entity and/or region.
  • Supports critical internal communications projects, working closely with internal stakeholders, to develop and implement supporting tactics to reach target audiences.
  • Partners with external marketing leads and physician relations to support physician communication to develop and implement communications that promote new providers and practices to maximize visibility internally.
  • Strategizes and implements a wide range of communications and resources include, but not limited to, memos, website/intranet content, newsletter articles, email, presentations, webcasts, town hall meetings and other communications for targeted internal stakeholders.
  • Provides internal communications function perspective, input and action on committees as needed.
  • Strategizes content and functionality for the associate intranet portal (StarPort) to support associate communication; creates, provides, and maintains updates to the site.
  • Strategizes, develops, and contributes relevant content to existing internal communication vehicles to build awareness, understanding and to ensure alignment in messaging within the entity, region and system.
  • Provides internal communication support for associate events, management meetings, town hall meetings, wellness initiatives, and other events, as applicable.
  • Serves as internal (not professional) photographer at entity or regional events, as designated by a member of the entity Executive Team.
