General Summary of Position

This position is for current nursing students who have completed Fundamentals of Nursing.  To be considered, you must have an active CNA license.    

Job Summary:
Our Student Nurse Assistant (SNA) position will afford you the opportunity to apply what you have learned in your nursing program. The role of the SNA will provide direct hands-on tech-based experience as you assume responsibility for the care of a group of patients under the supervision of an experienced registered nurse (RN). Your skills will shine through as you assist with daily tasks from organizing care for our patients to preparing patients for transfers and discharge. 

Having an opportunity to work from the Float Pool will diversify and solidify your clinical skills as you prepare for the next step in your career path as a Student Nurse Extern during your senior year of nursing school.

Start date:   July 8th, 2024

Required Commitment:  One week of new hire orientation (Monday-Friday) between the hours of 8am and 4pm is required.

·       To successfully acclimate into the role and build the confidence to function independently, you should plan on working at least two 12-hour shifts per week for a period of three to four weeks after new hire orientation to complete unit-based orientation and competencies.  *The more hours you can work, the better your experience will be.

·       Unit-based orientation will be scheduled in coordination with your leader and can be flexible for your needs.

·       Once orientation has been completed, this position will require a minimum of 24 hours over the course of a six-week schedule.

Hours:  12-hour shifts / Flexible scheduling to fit your school schedule

Pay:  $18.77 per hour

Education/Training: Active enrollment as a nursing student in an accredited nursing (RN or LPN) program; Successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing (or the equivalent) in an accredited nursing program; Official transcripts will be required at time of hire and at the end of each semester to validate active enrollment.

License/Certification: CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification by the Maryland Board of Nursing is required; BLS (CPR for Healthcare Providers) certification. 

Experience: No clinical experience outside of nursing school is required.
