General Summary of Position
Performs a variety of technical duties to assist with surgery. Provides expert services in all surgical specialty areas. Acts as a role model and resource for service excellence.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required and
- Bachelor's degree from a school of surgical technology or hospital-based program required or
- One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience
- 3-4 years Surgical technologist experience and consideration given to individuals who have exhibited intense exposure to a surgical setting. required
- One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.
Licenses and Certifications
- CST - Certified Surgical Technologist certification. required and
- Must maintain 18 Continuing Education Credits per year. required and
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required and
- Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Competency in case procedure, preparation and completion in all services.
- Expert in all specialty surgical services.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
This position has a hiring range of $29.15 - $51.68
