General Summary of Position
Supports the efficiency, ease of use and reliability of telehealth and other connected care programs that occur in or originate from a MedStar Health facility. Provides prompt, professional, compassionate patient and consumer support. In collaboration with the care team, coordinates and manages efficient patient flow using telemedicine practices. Works under the direction of the MedStar Telehealth Innovation Center and works closely with hospital leadership, including but not limited to, Nursing, Provider and Patient Experience. These functions are performed in accordance with MedStar Health's philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards. This position is required to float to any/all hospitals as needed.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
  • Floats to provide coverage support at other MSH hospitals as needed.
  • Manages assigned telehealth technology platforms to ensure a positive patient and provider experience.
  • Bring telehealth devices to patient's bedside to facilitate activities such as: teleconsultation with remote providers, remote rounding, family video visits with or without the care team, virtual interpreting services, remote patient monitoring enrollments and all other applicable current & future in-house telehealth related initiatives as established by MTIC/MI2.
  • Supports the Telehealth Operations and Support Center to triage system calls, telehealth orders and other priorities as needed. Works with MedStar Information Services to track, troubleshoot, manage, and maintain telehealth devices, ensuring optimal patient & staff experience.
  • Follows departmental processes & procedures to provide assistance for patients, MedStar providers, and staff. Ensures complete and timely communication between colleagues and stakeholders. Documents all visits and activities timely and accurately once the visit is connected or the activity is completed.
  • Under the direction of MTIC and Hospital leaders, collaborates with clinicians to identify barriers and participates in the evaluation, development and implementation measures to further optimize services in-house.
  • Displays the highest standards of SPIRIT values and Patient Quality Standards of Patient Safety, Compassion, Professionalism and Coordination of Care.
  • Identifies and assesses stakeholders' needs quickly and accurately in support of MedStar Health telehealth activities.
  • Works with IS, Nursing Informatics, MSH-Mobility, etc to help track, manage and maintain telehealth devices/hardware. Follows Infection control protocol for cleaning telehealth devices after each visit.
  • Joins virtual and in-person team meetings focused on team collaboration & optimization efforts which benefit departmental/organizations goals.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Education

    • High School Diploma or GED required or
    • Associate's degree preferred
    • One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

    Experience

    • 1-2 years In a clinical and/or customer service setting required
    • One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills
    • Knowledge of medical terminology and effective oral and written communication skills.
    • Possess the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, think critically, organize and prioritize work, deal effectively and professionally with a variety of different client groups to support and monitor the needs of multiple clinicians.
    • Demonstrates a high level of customer service.
    • Self starter, ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize work.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Tech-savvy.
    • Comfortable donning and doffing PPE when entering and exiting patient isolation rooms


    This position has a hiring range of $20.17 - $35.04
