Overview:

 

Must have an excellent knowledge of all Respiratory Care procedures and modalities regarding the neonate including Critical Care, High Frequency Ventilation, newborn physiology, and Blood Gas analysis. Their knowledge base should be sufficient to evaluate, initiate, and decide appropriate intervention for the neonate. Skills levels must be maintained and documented annually for outside transport of Neonates.


Qualifications:

 

Education: Must be a graduate from an approved School for Respiratory Care

Licensure: Meets state requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner License

Experience: Must have one year of experience, not to include time on orientation.

Certification: Hold the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential awarded by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC). ACLS is required. For coworkers working in the Emergency room, PALS is required.

Preferred Experience: Prefer critical care experience.
