Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups to include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the established guidelines of nursing practice, the goals of Mercy Health System, the Philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy, the Respective State Nurse Practice Act, the Code of Professional and Business Ethics and the Co-Worker Code of Conduct. Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO

Department: 5H Surgical

• Up to $10,000 Sign-On Bonus

• ASN to BSN Bridging Program to assist in obtaining your BSN (up to $16,000).
• BSN to MSN Bridging Program to assist in obtaining your MSN (up to $16,000).

• Up to $7,500 Sign-On Bonus
• No Contract Required
• RN Loan Forgiveness Program to aide in paying off your RN student loan debt.
• Up to $370 per month directly towards loan payments ($20,000 cap).
• Must start with Mercy within 12-months of graduation.

• Experience: None required.  
• Required Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current Missouri RN license and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. Other unit specific certifications as required or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe. 
• Other: Physical requirements/demands:
  • Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
