Overview:

This is a REMOTE position.

 

The HR System Consultant is part of a team that provides technical support and ancillary functional support of Mercy's HR-specific applications.

Supports HR partners in enhancement of existing or development and implementation of new systems or processes to support business needs. Actively participates in the evaluation of new applications and validation of system requirements. Assists in development or manages configuration of systems to meet business requirements. Leads projects within team. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

 

•    Collaborates with leaders and other business partners on requirements of the areas they support and works to develop solutions.  Business partners include, but are not limited to, HR Operations, Payroll, Benefits, Leave Administration, Compensation, Retirement, MTS, Talent Selection and Finance.
•    Takes a primary role in the administration and configuration of Workday and projects related to HR-specific systems. Seen as a subject matter expert in multiple aspects of system support.
•    Supports established structure and provides oversight to outcomes on interfaces, updates, and workflow. Investigates and implements new processes based on customer needs. Acts as a model to other team members via educational support in standard/recurring support processes and incorporating process changes on the fly, if necessary. Helps to facilitate team learning and opportunities to share information.
•    Supports HR operational processing and maintenance including research and implementation of process improvements both internal and external to immediate team.
•    Supports documentation of and updates to operational procedures, scripts and specifications.
•    Conducts research and additional knowledge to support associated systems. Directly participates in system upgrades, implementations or customizations as required. 
•    Maintains knowledge pertaining to compliance and regulatory changes as they impact HR requirements and record-keeping.
•    Provides a high level of customer service and training to internal customers responding to requests with an appropriate sense of urgency combined with professional interaction. Supports end users of HR/HR-related systems by troubleshooting most complex issues, conducting root cause analysis and issue resolution. Develops and maintains relationships with business partners while identifying and analyzing functions to make process enhancement recommendations.
•    Investigates system and data departures from standardization. Participates in continuous review and update to ensure processes meet changing business conditions. Leverages operational HR knowledge/experience to reconcile business need and technological capability/solutions. Supports Mercy's overall HR objectives and operations while ensuring compliance to government and other regulatory requirements.
•    Coordinates system processes with MTS team are followed to ensure proper change management steps are followed.
•    Supports standard work within team, taking on most complex issues for resolution. 
•    Researches and recommends newly available technology within systems utilized by Mercy; identifying opportunities to leverage and implement automation when possible.
•    Leads projects and/or team on a consistent basis.


Qualifications:

  • Experience:Minimum 5 years related experience in one or more of the following areas: HR Systems, Information Technology, HR Operations, HR Shared Services, Information Technology. 3+ years relevant Workday experience strongly preferred; one Workday certification strongly preferred.
  • Education: BS degree required or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, finance, information technology or other analytical field strongly preferred.
