Shift: Full-time (40hrs. Week), Days

Overview:

 


Job Profile Summary
Under the direction of the Manager, will perform a wide variety of duties to provide clerical and administrative support. Activities include, but are not limited to: phones, billing, appointment scheduling, patient registration, office supply inventory, transcription, filing, insurance verification and other duties as assigned. Interacts with co-workers and members of other departments. Assists in unit operational support tasks; assists with Human Resources management; works cooperatively with others as part of a team and recognizes the importance of group goals. Responds to requests within authorized scope of knowledge and skills.  

Job Description: 

 

Safety/Risk Management:
a. Handles and maintains all files, reports and fiscal data in a confidential manner; processes record requests.
b. Maintains a clean workplace.

Coordination of Services:
a. Lead and direct all clerical functions in the clinic.
b. Train clerical staff in all front desk functions.
c. Train clerical staff and assure competencies in all data entry including registration, scheduling and charging.

Complex Aspects:
a. KRONOS editor for all cost centers; maintain competency in KRONOS software updates.
b. Enter charges in EPIC; handle pre-certs, denials and appeals for the services.
c. Productivity monitoring for all cost centers; input daily administrative data.
d. Coordinates all clerical communications and paperwork associated with the dept including calls to families, clinical documentation, appointment scheduling, chart preparation and discharge summaries.
e. Monitor work of volunteers; provide schedules and direction as to job assignments.

Physician Support:
a. Provides necessary communication to the physicians in conjunction with PM.
b. Assists with timely completion of licensure and credentialing forms, fees, etc.
c. Creates a monitoring system to prevent loss of medical privileges and licenses
d. Assists with the setting up and monitoring of Physician CME
e. Assists with setting up conferences for the physicians

Primary Aspects:
a. EPIC charge entry; edits and credits.
b. Maintains updated charge master.
c. Orders non-catalogue supplies as needed.
d. Manages denials for all cost centers, including appeals.

Communication Management:
a. Maintains open communication with Supervisor and all departmental staff.
b. Acknowledges individuals in a prompt and courteous manner making them feel welcome t the department.
c. Focuses attention and communication on the individual being served.

Technology:
Maintains updated knowledge and use of all equipment and software applicable to the department.  

 

Qualifications:

  Additional Job Description
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required with coursework in clerical skills.
Experience: A minimum of two years' experience in a medical office setting.
Other: Typing proficiency required. Medical terminology required.
Preferred Experience: Five years of experience in a medical office setting.
