Overview:
Mercy Joplin is seeking an onsite Patient Access Lead
Evenings: Monday- Friday 1:30 pm -10:00 pm
The Patient Access Lead serves as a resource to the Supervisor/Manager by providing expert guidance to caregivers, monitoring assigned area, training and mentoring team members and identifying and implementing workflow improvements. The Patient Access Lead has the knowledge and skills to perform all duties required by their assigned area.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Experience: 3 years' experience with medical terminology, insurance plans, verification of benefits, authorization and pre-determination.
- Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Other: Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, providing clear direction and maintaining professional relationships with caregivers, patients, physicians, hospital staff, and insurance companies.Demonstrates collaborative behavior, using sound judgment and logic to quickly identify and resolve issues.Capable of adapting to change, embracing new responsibilities, and following leadership direction with a positive attitude.Maintains accuracy and composure under pressure, consistently meeting deadlines and performing tasks with attention to detail.Takes ownership and accountability, striving for excellence and engaging in ongoing learning and professional development.Proficient in Patient Access procedures and committed to delivering high-quality service.Physical requirements include the ability to:Push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.Stand and walk for prolonged periods during each shift.Grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform job duties.
