Mercy is hiring Patient Care Associates to support patient care across multiple inpatient units, including Cardiac, General Surgery, Med/Tele, Neuro, Observation, Oncology, and Orthopedics. Clear career ladder advancement to Patient Care Technician (PCT) and beyond
Patient Care Associate (PCA):
Obtain and document vital signs
Assist patients with daily care needs including meals, bathing, toileting, mobility, and transport
Provide clerical and unit support as needed
Patient Care Technician (PCT):
(Includes PCA duties, plus additional skills)
Phlebotomy and blood cultures
Enteral feeding and wound care
IV and Foley catheter removal
Tracheostomy care and suctioning
Training Provided
No experience required – we'll train you
Complete a 175-hour Mercy training program (meets state requirements)
BLS certification required within 1 month of hire
Qualifications
High school diploma or G.E.D. required
CNA preferred but not required
Students in healthcare career programs and current Mercy co-workers encouraged to apply
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Prolonged standing and walking
Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting
