Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO
Status: Full-Time
Shift: 36 Hours Per Week Qualifications:PCT/NT Experience: CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Previous Patient Care Experience.
PCA/PCT Required Education: High school diploma, G.E.D
PCA/PCT Preferred Education: CNA/CPTC. or enrolled in a healthcare career program through their high school curriculum, and/or a current co-worker of Mercy.
NT Required Education: High school diploma, G.E.D. and enrolled in an approved or accredited nursing program. Prior to employment, the nurse tech shall provide student transcripts indicating they have completed Fundamentals of Nursing from an accredited school of nursing and provide competency skills list from their learning institution. The nurse tech must remain in good standing with their school of nursing while in this role. This program is for nursing students only, if a student leaves a program for any reason, they can no longer be a nurse tech.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course required within one month of hire. Completion of PCA competencies within 3 months of hire.
Preferred Certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Unlicensed Assistant (AUA) in the state of practice, Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT).
Minimum Physical Requirements for all UAP roles:
Positions require individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Positions require prolonged standing and walking each shift.
Positions require the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
