The Patient Relations Specialist acts as an administrative liaison to patients, family members, physicians, coworkers, and departments, assisting patients in understanding hospital services and resolving their concerns. It includes receiving and investigating patient complaints to ensure timely and positive resolutions, while promoting patient rights and services in line with regulatory standards and Mercy's mission. Position Details: Located in SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI HYBRID - 1 DAY work from home Minimum Qualifications:


Experience:  Prior experience in customer service/patient relations.

Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Degree in healthcare-related field.

Other Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: 
•    Understands hospital services, patient care, and regulatory standards.
•    Able to demonstrate strong communication skills to interact with patients, families, and hospital staff.
•    Possesses analytical skills to identify trends and make recommendations for process improvements.
•    Can follow through on tasks and motivate others.
•    Can implement and champion new processes related to patient relations.
•    Can work with hospital leadership to develop and monitor patient relations initiatives.
•    Ensures accurate documentation and follow-up of patient complaints.
•    Can analyze data and provide detailed reports to hospital committees.
•    Is self-motivated and able to manage tasks without constant supervision.
•    Assess and addresses patient problems effectively.
•    Is proficient in using MS Office products for documentation and reporting.
•    Can use hospital systems for data collection and analysis.
