RN Overview:

Registered Nurse in clinic provides professional nursing care to patients within the medical practice. Assists in the treatment of patients and completes related clinical paperwork. Performs related duties as assigned. Co-workers of Mercy are expected to comply with all federal, state, and local regulations in addition to the organizational policies and procedures. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values and Mercy Service Standards


RN Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

  • Licensure: Current valid Arkansas state nursing license.

  • Experience: Minimum two (2) years as a Registered Nurse preferred.

  • Certifications: CPR certification.

  • Other: Knowledge of the principals and skills needed for nursing care. Knowledge of medications, patient education and common safety practices. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Must be able to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and policies. Must be able to communicate clearly and establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff and the public. Basic computer terminal and keyboard skills, or the ability to learn these skills, in order to access information and enter clinical data.

 

LPN Overview:

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) . Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

 

LPN Qualifications:

  • Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Licensure: Must have a current LPN license to practice in the state of Arkansas.
  • Certifications: Must have current CPR Certification. 
  • Preferred Experience: One year professional nursing experience preferred.

 

MA Overview:

  • Prepares patient for visit with provider by completing Advanced Standard room process including entering the chief complaint; taking patient vital signs; reviewing patient history and allergies; completing a thorough medication reconciliation; working the Encounter Guide including helping to close any open care gaps such as fall risk, depression screening, breast cancer screening, colorectal cancer screening, and diabetic eye exams; rechecking elevated blood pressures; and completing needed documentation in Epic for yearly preventative visits as needed.
  • Assists with any needed in-office testing including, but not limited to, drawing blood, completing mental status exams, EKG's, walking oxygen studies and point of care testing.
  • Administer vaccines and other injections within scope of practice.
  • Schedules follow up appointments when needed per office policy.
  • Collaborates with providers and clinical care team to monitor and coordinate delivery of the care plan.

 

MA Qualifications:

  • Medical Assistant: 
    Education: High School Diploma or GED. 
    Certification: Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire. 
    Preferred Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office. 

  • Certified Medical Assistant: 
    Education: High School Diploma or GED. 
    Certification: Must have active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA). Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
