Overview
Mercy is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU). In this role, you will provide high quality, patient centered care to adults with complex cardiac conditions who require continuous monitoring and specialized nursing support. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to cardiac progressive care patients, following evidence‑based practice and Mercy standards.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and patient responses, intervening promptly as needed.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures with accuracy and clinical judgment.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to create and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, treatment plans, medications, and post‑discharge care.
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately within the electronic medical record.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold patient safety practices.
- Support Mercy's mission by providing compassionate care and maintaining a healing environment.
Qualifications
Required:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in cardiac, telemetry, PCU, or critical care nursing.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (or obtained within a specified timeframe).
- NIH Stroke Scale certification (if applicable to unit protocols).
