Location: Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, Saint Louis, MO 63128
Status: PRN (As Needed)
OverviewResponsible for assessment, problem identification and problem-solving for patient/staff education relating to breastfeeding. Develops, implements and evaluates the lactation education program. Emphasis with focus on antepartum, postpartum, nurseries and specifically related outpatient clientele.
QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree required, along with specialized training or completion of a relevant internship.
Licensure: Must hold a current RN license or RN Temporary Permit in the State of Missouri.
Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of professional experience required.
Certifications: Lactation education certification is required.
Education: Advanced degree or additional relevant coursework preferred.
Licensure: Additional or multi-state licensure preferred.
Experience: Prior experience in lactation support or related specialty preferred.
Certifications: Additional certifications in maternal-child health or lactation consulting preferred.
Other: Strong communication skills, ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
- Significant bending, stooping, and patient lifting/turning with assistance
- Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs
