Overview:

The Charge Registered Nurse utilizing theoretical concepts as a basis for decisions in practice will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in accordance with standards of nursing Practice.

We are a high-paced, high-energy 28 bed emergency room unit of a hospital facility that is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with qualified Emergency Physicians and nurses, trained specifically for providing unscheduled outpatient emergent care services to patients whose condition requires immediate attention. Mercy hospital is a designated Primary Stroke Center that provides the critical elements to achieve a quick diagnosis and treatment for the most complex cases of stroke to attain long-term success in improving outcomes. We have an exceptional unit highlighted by teamwork and dedication and provide quick access to advanced diagnostic technology.

    • 3:1 – 4:1 Patient to Nurse Ratio

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
  • Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
  • Physical requirements/demands: Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
  • Certifications:
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
  • Other unit specific certifications as required or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe.
