The Supervisor is responsible for the effective management of the day-to-day operations of the Pastoral/Auxiliary Services department(s) (including organizing, scheduling, directing and supporting chaplains and volunteers). He/she will provide spiritual care as a chaplain. Provide input into development for the department, including budgeting, educational needs, personnel issues and evaluations. Works collaboratively with leaders, managers, system-wide initiatives to ensure quality spiritual care to patients values/charismand Mercy Service Standards. Position Details:
Qualifications
Education: Bachelors in Theology, Ministry or related studies. Two units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) and willing to complete four units.
Experience: Two years of Chaplain experience.
Certification/Registration: Enrolled in certification program with Association of Professional Chaplains (APC), National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) or Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE).
Other: Ability for system and collaborative thinking. Proficient with computer skills: able to use word processing, email and computer-based programs. Able tofacilitate groups and interactions between staffmembers and be supportive of co-workers in all departments. Effective verbal and written communication, ability to work independently, good time management skills and able to work under pressure. Seeks continued education, knowledge of health care delivery systems and regulatory bodies, and performance improvement principles. Ability to provide Chaplain coverage as needed.
Preferred Education: masters in Theology, Ministry or related studies and four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
Preferred Experience: Healthcare Ministry experience with one or more years of leadership duties.
Preferred Certification/Registration: Board Certified Chaplain by NACC, ACPE or APC.
Preferred Other: Must be able to motivate others and function well in a team environment. Experience as healthcare chaplain and supervisory/management experience.
