Overview:

The Surgical Supply Analyst operates independently under the guidance of the Surgical Services leadership and clinical manager, overseeing clinical and administrative aspects of the operating room unit. They collaborate on budget preparation, ensure adherence to hospital policies, and provide leadership to maintain high standards in specialty surgery.


Qualifications:

 

Required Education: High school diploma or GED required

 

Experience: Previous clinical expertise in the operating room or sterile supply is preferred. Having a business background with Excel experience preferred.

 

Other: Must possess the ability to identify supplies and/or other patient charges that are associated with specific procedures and/or surgeon practices. Knowledge of implant practices and equipment usage is extremely valuable based on the high cost of these line items. Other skills necessary include an understanding of the entire OR patient charge process; guidelines for determining if an item is chargeable; charge data entry/integrity process; integration with patient billing. Uses correct grammar and punctuation in written documents. Write letters, plans, reports and memos that are easily understood and stated in a concise manner in keeping with the hospital standard. Past experiences have demonstrated good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with others. Demonstrates the ability to address complex problems and pose viable solutions using logical and sound judgement. Good time utilization is necessary.
