Overview:
Serves as a bridge to augment the growth of the surgical technologist student as she/he transitions from the student role to that of a career surgical technologist. Intern program is a partnership between Mercy and Drury University in order to train students for a career in Surgical Technology. Program start date is August 18th.
Qualifications:
Education: Must have HS Diploma or GED.
Certification(s): Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required.
Knowledge of various types of equipment used in the operating room or medical experience a plus. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Basic computer proficiency.
Physical Requirements: • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50lbs on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
