Overview:

 

The Vice President of Philanthropy and Campaigns is a key leadership role responsible for developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies to support the mission and vision of Mercy. This role involves overseeing major gift campaigns, planned giving, corporate and foundation relations. The Vice President will work closely with senior leadership, the board of directors, and key stakeholders to build a culture of philanthropy and secure the financial resources necessary to advance Mercy's strategic goals.

 

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive philanthropy strategy that aligns with Mercy's mission and vision.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and prioritize fundraising opportunities.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to inform fundraising strategies and decision-making.

Fundraising and Campaign Management:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of major gift campaigns, planned giving, corporate giving, as well as private and governmental grants.
  • Ensure fundraising campaigns are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful campaign delivery.

Donor Engagement and Stewardship:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, corporate partners, and foundation representatives.
  • Facilitate meetings and events to engage donors and gather input and feedback on fundraising initiatives.
  • Promote donor involvement and participation in organizational programs and services.

Resource Management:

  • Manage resources effectively to support the successful implementation of fundraising initiatives.
  • Identify and secure necessary resources, including funding, personnel, and technology.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing high-impact fundraising campaigns.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in fundraising software and tools.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in the healthcare industry or a related field.
  • Knowledge of market research and analysis techniques.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and drive innovation.
