Overview:
The Vice President of Philanthropy Operations is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of Mercy's philanthropic efforts. This role involves strategic planning, operational management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the effective execution of fundraising initiatives. The Vice President will work closely with senior leadership, the board of directors, and key stakeholders to build a culture of philanthropy and secure the financial resources necessary to advance the organization's mission and vision.
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive philanthropy operations strategy that aligns with Mercy's mission, values, and long-term goals.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and prioritize fundraising opportunities.
- Conduct market research and analysis to inform fundraising strategies and decision-making.
Operational Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the philanthropy operations department, ensuring efficient and effective processes.
- Develop and implement standardized programs (e.g. annual giving programs) and processes to ensure consistency and quality across all operational areas.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement innovative solutions to enhance productivity and service delivery.
- Manage the development and implementation of fundraising campaigns, events, and initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in philanthropic activities.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track and analyze key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of fundraising initiatives.
- Prepare and present regular reports on fundraising performance to senior leadership and the board of directors.
- Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and adjustments to fundraising strategies as needed.
Resource Management:
- Manage resources effectively to support the successful implementation of fundraising initiatives.
- Identify and secure necessary resources, including funding, personnel, and technology.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing high-impact fundraising campaigns.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.Proficiency in fundraising software and tools.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in the healthcare industry or a related field.
- Knowledge of market research and analysis techniques.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to think strategically and drive innovation.
