Job Description:
Under the direction of Security Services Leadership, the Mail Room persons is responsible for the
day to day operation of the mail room including but not limited to the management of all mail,
including pick up and drop off of mail at the post office, processing and sorting of all incoming
and outgoing mail, delivering the mail within the hospital, filing all doctor/medical reports,
maintaining mail room supply inventories, performing the bank and court house runs, monitoring all
equipments and supplies.
S/he is responsible for monitoring the mail room and equipment used by staff including the Pitney
Bowes mail machine, Printer/Fax machine, cell phones,safe,file crates, etc. S/he must have
excellent computer communication skills. S/he will be expected to flex and assist with department
coverage.
The Mail Room persons is to support the Lab Couriers by pre-run setup for all the courier runs.
Every evening s/ he is to pre-stage each run by stocking the runs with all needed supplies and
sorting all mail for each individual Courier run.
The Mail Room persons must be able to problem solve, assist with running errands upon approval or
directions from Security Services leadership. S/he must be proficient on the computer, able to use
all applicable applications required to complete their duties.
This position interacts with a wide variety of medical, technical, and administrative staff, as
well as patients and the general public as such the Mail Room persons must conduct themselves
professionally at all times. The Mail Room persons must be able to manage the hospital's fluid
working environment, such as working around infectious waste, diseases, and odors. S/he must be
proactive in taking appropriate safety precautions. S/he must maintain a good driving record and
will be expected to handle varied driving conditions.
S/he must be organized and must prioritize work and meet timeline requirements.
Experience:
Prior mail experience helpful.
Education:
High school diploma, G.E.D. or combination of education and relevant work experience preferred.
Licensures/Certifications:
Must possess a valid California driver's license.
Other:
In addition to the above CA driver's license, the following are required: An acceptable driving record of three points
or less and participation in the DMV pull-notice program.

Assigned Work Hours:
Per diem, varied am/pm shifts as needed. No set guaranteed hours in a two week pay period. This is not a full or part time position.

$37.34The hours employees work determine when a shift differential is paid.
